It's 3am in England...10pm here...can't...keep....eyes....open.....oh god.
Yup, the rumours are true. I am home after a bittersweet nine days in beautiful England.
Expect some cool photos up soon - in particular, look out for my cousin Adam's 1972 Rolls Royce V8 Silver Shadow. Sexy, sexy car that is, and also the first car I ever drove in Britain! (and the first right hand drive, and the first V8, and the first Rolls I ever drove too!)
As for me, I am fucking exhausted. Night!

Well, it's currently 4pm here at Haslemere, and it's nearly dark. England is mostly further north than Toronto, so it gets darker earlier. It's weird, the sunrise and sunset look different; there is a strange gold glow that makes everything look like it is out of a movie. And everything is green, so ridiculously green. I swear the grass like...glows...there is no snow, and a ton of plants still have their leaves, it looks beautiful. I went into London yesterday with dad, had a pint at a pub that is 173 years old, I'll have pics up when I get back.

Beer is freaking cheap, it's only £2 for a pint!!! That is like...$4.30 or something ridiculously cheap. And that is for like...premium beverages too. I haven't quite figured out how to order a beer here though...when I ask what they have on draught, they are like "Bitter, lager, or ale?" And I'm like "huh?" I should really learn what the difference is one of these days. Though I damn well know I like bitter. They don't have a ton of lagers...today in fact I was forced to order a Carlsberg, which is no real problem, but it was boring to get something so familiar (and watered down). However, Strongbow is abso-fucking-lutely everywhere, which I love, and again, it's only £2.

On a final note, my cousin Steph and I have had a right-old time with some buddha, on Xmas eve no less, god bless her!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!

Just got off from the Navy and I'm off to go downtown to meet up with my Dad. Today's shoppers were pretty tame and happy. I'm waiting until the moon changes and they all turn into crazy customers from hell on boxing day. You can't spell customer without "CUSSSS!" I also tried contacting Miss Elsie Ankra (lady's wallet we found). I left a message on her dentist's machine, other than that there were no numbers in it anywhere, haha just La Senza discount cards. Also cleaned Mr.Fish's bowl (its more of a cup if you ask me), fed it and said my prayers for it. Stay alive little dude. That should be everything on the to do list. Just wrap my sister's gift and away I go. Peace all, don't drink too much
eggnog!

Cheers from Haslemere, England. Sitting at my Aunt Kathy's with my family in the other room. It's nice to be with them for Christmas for the first time, feels weird. The flight over was good, met the singer from Pilate on the flight, no word of a lie. His family is up in York, and he's a pretty cool guy, was nice. My grandmother is not altogether well...she looks very ill and is unfortunately not really able to speak to anyone - she is taking morphine, and I suspect she doesn't even know I'm here. But she talked to my mom very briefly, which is great, because at least my mom can rest easy now that she has seen her, when she passes on. It's about 2:30pm there, right now its about 7:30 here, merry Christmas everyone, hope your holidays are great! talk to u soon.

Just got back from the latest Lord of the Rings film...kicks the shit out of any other film trilogy *hint hint* I've seen. I especially like the ending, it kind of dragged on, but it wasn't an ambiguous ending like another trilogy *cough.* hehe, okay I'm done with the Matrix-bashing. But seriously, go see that film.

only a few bruises so i count that as a win for me.

Well, due to my trip to England, my parents let me put together my computer early so I could try it out...and not surprisingly, it's fast. Generals runs like some kind of stupid dream, Morrowind looks ridiculous, my flight simulators....still don't run fast, wtf is up with that? I fiddled with the settings - it's faster than any other computer I've ever had, but it still isn't running too well. I don't think my Radeon is running at 8X AGP, and I can't figure out how to set it that way. Anyway, it runs like a fucking dream in every other program - Andy and Drix, prepare for an ass-whooping!

PAUL'S POST ALEXISONFIRE/MONEEN SHOW REPORT:

It started with silence. Then came Death from Above - a band made up of two musicians: a bassist, and a drummer. The bassist was from Scarghetto...the drummer from Erin Mills...if it weren't for them being white, I'd say that Hendrix has gone and cloned himself. Though the music was more along the lines of "rupture your eardrums" instead of "sooth the soul." Overall they were uh....different...but nothing too impressive.

Moving along, Warsaw Pack was the next band to the stage. They surprised me, I had heard they were a political rap group, which immediately scared me. But it turns out they were something of a mix between Rage Against the Machine and Zero 7...a great mix of funk, rockabily, and really intelligent rap. I enjoyed them a lot, to say the least. Reminded me of the ever awesome Red Pill Theory.

Skipping the next band to hit the stage, Alexisonfire closed the show (gee, I wonder if this means Paul really liked Moneen?) I have to admit, I like the album, and I thought I'd be impressed, but they really surprised me - they were FAR better than I had expected. Their timing, energy, sense of humour (which I will elaborate on in a sec) and overall attitude was fantastic. They played their music to the point that I decided it's best to hear them live to appreciate the raw power of their tunes. Now, as for the sense of humour...they finished their starting set with Little Girls Pointing and Laughing, an awesome tune to say the least...but now...they went off stage...well...sort of. The singer started complaining about having lost his shoes while crowd surfing...and then Dallas the guitarist came out and started bitching about it. And then yadda yadda...I can't remember it all, but meanwhile, seriously, half the Kool Haus emptied...and missed two more songs, because after like...15 minutes of hilarious ranting, they did an encore. I loved them, they definitely did a good job!

Moneen.
From Brampton, near enough to my hometown for me to be proud. Had an energy I've not seen since either Finch or Greenday. Played such favs as Are We Really Happy With Who We Are Right Now?, Tonight I'm Gone, Start Angry End Mad, and an AMAZING rendition of The Passing of America. That song absolutely blew me away, they absolutely killed it. I can't really describe what made them so good, maybe it was Chris Hughes' ridiculous dreads flying everywhere...Kenny Bridges' dancing all over the stage...or just that the band totally fucking rocks together live...hard to say. Might even be because I am happy to see a local band at the Kool Haus, actually making it somewhere. I wish the best to them!

As for me, I've been awake some 18 hours. I AM FUCKING TIRED. Fuck you exams, I am done. Fuck you Mississauga Transit, I made it home alive.

Gooo Moneen!

260 DUN
! Just taking a little breather before I start reading tree-fiddy-7 material. Its a wonderful feeling when you're taking a scan tron without an eraser... and oh yea, your pen running out of ink right before the final essay question. Good thing there was a spare in my bag. Felt like a tard, "Ummm miss do you have an eraser?... what about another pen?... that's alright I'll just etch my answers with my nail." Whatever, that mother is done. Also working 6pm - 12am at the Navy on Friday, WTF is that?! I wonder if its midnight madness (aka midnight assrape for the workers). Stupid hours still. And why am I complaining? I'm usually up until 2.

Today's Lessons:

1) bring fiddy pens to your xams

2) 50 is spelt f-i-d-d-y

3) downsizing the glass ceiling is NOT easy

So I just watched the
Spiderman 2 teaser trailer...and have some comments, obviously. First of all, Kirsten Dunst is hot. Moving along, in case you live under a rock and don't know, Dr.Otto Octavius or Dr.Octopus is the bad dude in this film, which is cool, but it automatically raised two issues with me: First, in the teaser, we see a car getting chucked at our hero and his girl - and it made me think of the Matrix with the slow-motion. Then we see the tentacles of Dr.Octopus - which look like the tentacles of the sentinels also from the Matrix. Now, really folks, I know that spoof films copy the Matrix - but damnit Spidey, why are YOU copying it? And finally, the actor playing Dr.O is Alfred Molina...Now, he has been in a lot of films, and indeed, some fairly good ones. But he is NOT an evil villian. What the HELL is Sony thinking? Actually, I suppose the fault is this woman's. Anyway, the film still looks pretty cool, I am hoping it is going to be more Batman Returns than Superman 2. Oh good lord. Speaking of Batman, in case you, like me, didn't know, they are making a fifth film. It'll star Michael Caine and Christian Bale, and is reportedly going to be called Batman: Intimidation, feel free to scream and run for fear of witnessing another terrible blow to cinema and to comic book heroes. They are also making a new Superman film...I am not sure what to think of that because while I hate remakes in general (although Ocean's Eleven still remains one of my favourite films to date), I never really liked the old Superman films...they were far too contrived. Like...REALLY people....YOU CANNOT TURN BACK TIME BY SPINNING THE EARTH THE WRONG WAY!

Well that is just a bloody nuisance. ICCT sold my video card to someone else before I picked it up. So I showed up and they didn't have it. And they won't have another shipment till this coming week. And apparently like no other place on freaking earth has the damned card. So I'm going to probably have to make the trip downtown to College and Spadina and see what I can sort out from them. My other option is to get an ASUS Radeon 9600XT. I wouldn't really mind that except it's 20 dollars more, and doesn't use the Catalyst 9 drivers from ATI, which are apparently superior to the ASUS drivers, and allow for "Overdrive" which is an ATI manufactured built-in overclocking device that allows the system to dynamically overclock the video card dependent on the temperature of the card. ASUS doesn't have a similar program - although I've researched it and found that ASUS cards are actually better for overclocking overall, but it's more risky, and not dynamic.

In other news, seems no one is home again here in Caledon East this weekend. This fucking SUCKS. I come home hoping to see friends and they are never freaking around. On the plus side, I have turned my father to the dark side, and he is now running a No CD crack for Flight SImulator 2004. Like son like father I suppose.

Pst, Andy and Hendrix, did you get Call of Duty to run? It actually seems to run on my CURRENT computer, which surprised me a lot. I didn't get to fuck around with it for long though, looks all right.

F is for FANTAZZZ-GREAT!

Today my folks started packing our stuff. They bought a ginormous house somewhere... if you ask me I would have been happy at 69 Sundance till the end of time. So I start sorting the stuff I have here, too much fun. I found my micromachines, marbles, comic books, corny ass poems, and some old drawing me and my buddy cy made... plus my first porno mag! haha Good thing I'm packing my shit, parents would have sent me to an asylum or something. I started panicking when I couldn't find Contra but when I opened up the Nintendo lid thingy it was inside where it belonged. They packed a few of my things... bad news, X-Force 10-15 are all bent up. If the 12-year-old me saw that he would have died, it took me ten seconds of swearing and all was forgiven. Also found Newman memorabilia... good times. Tomorrow is gonna be all about packing. Fun looking back but I think its time for a garage sale. SCARBY-4-LIFE!!!

- Jack Handey

That is fecking brilliant.

Well, that is one exam down. Fine Art History can kiss my ass. I got my term paper back....85%. That means I got 85% on all three of my papers for that class. How is that for consistency? Anyway, the exam was fine, I am not expecting miracles here, but a 70-something is not out of the question. Maybe even an 80, who knows, who cares. Not me. Me? I am gonna study for VCC and prepare to be raped. And not just an ordinary rape. Oh no. The kind from American History X with a gang of horrible burly gay men sending me to hospital in agony. I'm baaaaack. And once again, it would appear as though I have shit all to do tonight. *sigh* So I lied last night. I can admit it. I did NOT get the Chenming case today, nor my RAM or video card....instead...I got a
different case. Alas, it is not nearly as cool looking, but it has some nice features, including a 3 year Antec warranty, a really solid name behind the power source, and better still, an absolutely dead silent fan on the back. And it's HUGE...120mm. That's 12cm for the folks at home. That is HUUUUGE. Anyway, it's pretty sweet. As for the RAM and video card...well...the one place in all of the GTA that has the RAM I wanted didn't have it in stock, but on Tuesday they will so I will just pick it up next week. Then the video card is still up in the air, I want to get a Radeon 9600XT from this place called Inmax. But I'd have to order it apparently, which is a pain. It's also right downtown, which is a nuisance to get to. Plus, I can get the Radeon 9600 Pro for nearly 60 dollars less, albeit OEM, but who fucking cares? I can download all the shit online anyway. Anyway, I now have a case, and a motherboard...and they came in at a cost considerably less than expected, so I might splurge and get an Intel 2.8Ghz C chip instead of an Intel 2.6Ghz C chip. Or maybe I'll get a CD. Tough call.

Till next time, I remain the one, the only, the stupendous....
*drum roll*
Blog whore.

Four posts in three hours. Can you tell I'm bored yet? Well if not, you are clearly a fucking idiot. Moving along to more important matters. I have discovered a new webcomic. Well...actually...REdiscoverd a new webcomic. I actually read it's first couple ones but obviously forgot to bookmark it and then forgot about it entirely. It's called
AppleGeeks and has art that even blows MacHall out of the water, which I didn't think possible. I particularly like Comic #13, simply entitled Alice. They have a desktop background for that one...I am soooo downloading it to the box when I am back at 70. Hendrix, check that shit out, seriously, BEAUTIFUL artwork, ridiculous! hehe, "You know what hurts the most? The lack of respect. Actually, the lack of respect hurts the second most. RIDICULOUS!"

This place has more crazy-sick-wicked art....I want that domain name NOW. Can't you imagine it? www.crazy-sick-wicked.ca! That would be just peachy. My laundry is currently in the washer. Seriously, I need help people. I can't stop linking sites. It's a DISEASE people! It will only get worse before it gets better.

Jealous? Yah...that is gonna be my box. Probably gonna get it tomorrow along with this beauty. It ain't no 9800XT...well...actually it's a 9600XT...close e-fucking-nuff. Gimme a break, I am a starving artist...er...student...er...slightly well-to-do student...aight, I am a leech living off my parents, so sue me! If I am totally crazy-go-nuts I'll even get this. I know that isn't exactly THE top of the line Corsair RAM, but again, I am not made of money - not literally anyway...I'm not made of hundred dollar bills that is...man that would be sweet...except people would always be trying to exchange me for goods and services - but I figure it'll be better than Andy and Hendrix's RAM, and really folks, isn't that all that matters?

Okay so I'm going to go see how many times I can spin round in the middle of Airport road before I puke and/or get hit by a car/truck/drunk. Maybe that will ease my bordom. I mean it's not like any of my friends at home ever seem to call me! Nor does my girlfriend! (can you feel the bitterness people?)

This is Kent Brockman, from Channel Six news, signing off.

PS - I am awesome!
