HOUSE 77 VERSION 2.2
Wednesday, March 31, 2004

Dear Sherindale,

Ok, I know we got off on the wrong foot and all but maybe you can take it easy on me? You know I like you but stop being a bitch. 5 things next week, my ears are shooting out facts from exams and projects. How about a truce? I'll give you more money if you ease up and gimme a free ride? Unmarked hundreds in a paper bag sound good? I'll drop it off at the South J building, get back to me soon. Thank you for your time and understanding.

SINcerely,
- H

So, I just wandered over to
lovely Ms.Rayne's website to see what is going on in her world. And I admit, I was a bit behind on my reading because otherwise I'd of made this post earlier. She was listening to Depeche Mode. That just deserves mention cuz they are the best band ever.
...I think that's about all I had to say about that. Meantime, essays and work is killing me. For those who are interested, this is my masterpiece. Although I wish I could redo the lil Forward and Back logo buttons...they aren't quite as well Photoshopped as I'd like them to be. Oh yah, don't open that file unless you have Acrobat Reader 6.0, because 5.0 doesn't like all the cool mouseover shit I did.
Tomorrow I finish an essay for CCT206. Then Thursday I have hell day with class. Friday is editing day for my CCT353 class - I am sooo happy she extended that project. It'd be impossible for me to have finished it otherwise. This weekend is then study time and write 304 essay time. And next week we still got good ol' 370 project, and three tests. Then it is time to fucking get stoned, get drunk, get stoned some more, get drunk some more, and repeat that process until I wake up mysteriously in California lying on a fake zebra skin waterbed next to Scarlett Johansson. Or maybe I'll just repeat that process until I get so much work that it warrants me stopping again. Odds are that won't happen again until sometime next October though, so I'm not too concerned.
Summer is coming. I can feel it. I can taste it. I can smell it. I can hear it. I can even see it. I don't think I've ever looked so much forward to summer in my entire life. And then it's just a mere eight more months until freedom from university and the normal educational system forever and ever amen! For those who are interested - I am making this very clear and well known now. I AM going to Europe (including England, Ireland, Scotland, and Amsterdam - and possibly Ibiza) sometime next summer - probably beginning July. I plan on forgetting everything I've learned during my entire stay in the educational system by utilizing mass quantities of alcohol and other harmful substances, and I plan on doing it until September 2005 when flight school begins.
So excited. Two more weeks of school. Not even. Dear god. So happy. Oh yah, and another thing...Phil's anyone?????

I have had so much work...and it won't end anytime soon. Oh no, no that would be too good for me. Stupid school.
On a side note, my 305 project will destroy all others. ALL!!
Also on a side note - it's 17 degrees out in Caledon East, and sunny, with light clouds. Could this not be the most beautiful day ever?
I think so.

So some time ago I was at a debut, and there was this really beautiful girl sitting at my table. I ask Jo about her and he's like, "
ummm she's our cousin." Family trees should be a mandatory tattoo of some kind.

So today Drix and Brad showed me the video Rabbit in your Headlights, which is a collaboration by Radiohead, UNKLE, and DJ Shadow. An interesting an eclectic mix of musicians to say the least. The song itself is a dark, brooding, and barren peice of music. But the video...is a freaking masterpiece. I have watched it like two or three times in a row and it PERFECTLY matches the song, AND has got a ridiculous premise. I suggest that if you can find it somewhere, you do, and marvel in it's genius.

Morning all. Its a scorching 11¨ý degrees today. Be prepared for a 77% chance of homework. With the school-chill factor we should reach highs of 0 and lows -87637890. Be sure to dress down and don't forget your anti-bird gear. So get out there and safe spelunking.

I don't know too much about guitar gear but this site is just plain ridiculous. Type in your guit idol and it'll spew out their gear. A very cool tool when you want the same tone and sound. The diagrams are sick too. Check out these crazies and their gear. Pretty cool, some are minimalist and others are just alien. I'm still trying to acquire a magical delay pedal (and no I won't shut up about it).

Tom Morello
Jimi
Clapton

haha and if you don't play guitar I hope this will interest you. Here is a schematic to help recreate the Carmen Electra mating call. I'm off to build my own. Peace.

So I FINALLY watched Lost in Translation just now. I was extremely pleased with the film. I thought it was an absolutely perfect character development and Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson absolutely nailed both parts. I really loved it...I am glad I watched it.
As for some strange things I've read about it being racist or showing negative stereotypes about Japanese people...I think that is COMPLETELY offbase. I don't pretend to know much about Japan but it seemed to me that in many regards the film was allegorical - both Scarlett Johansson and Bill Murray's character were torn between the two worlds of image versus substance. In the same way, I think that the film tried to show Japan in a similar predicament - somewhere between image and substance, with both sides come the good and the bad and the characters reflected that. To suggest that the film portrayed Japanese people negatively is silly because a lot of films represent many groups in stereotypical ways. And in much, much worse ways...if anything I think that the rather bizarre aspects of Japan they showed were merely meant to amplify the feelings of being in a foreign place for both the audience and the characters.
Anyway if you haven't seen the film I strongly suggest you do because it really is just a great film. Really funny at times, really well thought out, and uses silence in a way that no other film ever has I don't think. Not nearly enough filmmakers rely on actors acting instead of actors talking *coughcoughMatrixcoughcough* hehe just had to throw that in.

Peash!! And on to Better Luck Tomorrow for my second film screening this evening.

Nothing like getting ur ego kicked in the balls. I guess I deserved it. Nat and I will be making an express trip to Kinko's at 7am this morning in hopes of submitting these stupid images in time for the arts festival. I just want a fighting chance at the stupid scholarship. Either way, there's always next year and good times to get me through. Peace and see you all in the morning.

Hey Raging Alky boy, save some of those booze for me. Haha it's like watching the Hulk transform. Add a drop of alky to Straight Edge Paul and you have Raging Alcoholic Boy.

Yea I'm going to need some alky in a week or two. This 205 assignment is schooling me hard. I just made a to do list and there's still 6 animations and sound to add. I've talked to other people in my class and Flash is basically kicking everyone's ass. I say fuck it and teach us Claymation. Don't get me wrong, Flash is still my first love and the project is slowly taking shape, but I have to emphasize SLOWLY. I like to nitpick at the pixels but there's simply no time to do that here.

Some reminders to our readers and fellow housemates:

1) Don't ever deny meals and sleep
2) Brad, you have that 371 assignment, don't forget!
3) Sparta makes for good homework music
4) The Drewster's number and jersey have been retired
4) The program button on a v-tech cordless phone will answer the call, there is no need to stab the "phone" button with a pen
5) Paul you owe me a new phone, or a new "phone" button

- - - - RAGING ALCOHOLIC BOY DRUNK REPORT - - - -
That's right. Raging Alcoholic Boy here...after a good hiatus of like...I dont even know. A really freaking long time. God DAMN it feels good to have that numb disorienting feel wash over my body again. It's just like riding a bike, you never forget!!!...what it is like to forget. Again.
So yah, I finished the CCT370 project last night - or rather, this morning - at 6am or there abouts. I slept about five hours, woke up, found out that poor Joanna's aunt is not fairing well, so my sympathies to Joanna, Joanna's aunt, and Joanna's family.
Okay best line ever - "I think I'm hungover." "You are or you arent?" "I are...er...I am."
Kay, yah, haha, that is amazing. Wow. I love alcohol. God I missed you. Think that's bad to say? I don't really care one way or the other. I've been half on crack half on weed for like the past three months so alcohol can only be a step up.

PEASSSH PEOPLE!!! RAB IS BACK BABY! Long live the boat race king!

6am I was finished
this beast. I am fairly pleased with it considering what it is made of. The biblio sucks, but meh, gimme a break, I did it at like 5am. I was tired. Anyway...there is talk of Halo this coming weekend...that'll be gooooood times.

I think I might start the Raging Alcoholic Boy reports again soon. Make a comeback baby!

So in case you all don't know, House 77 has been proud enough to experience the film Better Luck Tomorrow. If you haven't seen it, go and rent it. It's like this basically:
You: Whoa.
Movie: Yah I'm gonna mind-fuck you bitch! Ugh ugh ugh! You like it huh?? Yah that's right, you dunno what to do cuz I am just TOOO fucking good for you. Ugh ugh!
You: ....

So yah that is my synopsis.

You know...we here at House 70 have been listening to
Mars Volta for quite some time. I had the album before it was even released in fact. But not until recently have I been fully able to appreciate the goodness that is De-Loused in the Comatorium. Oh my, so good. Though I should point out I also equally enjoy the other half of At the Drive-In's reincarnation - Sparta. Wiretap Scars is also an excellent album, and I suggest them both to you, our loving audience.

Oh my god I love it.

I guess I'm blogging to lighten the load in my head (haha cuz its normally so full of stuff, beat all you to the punchline). Night all.
