There's nothing better than starting your day off with a Kung Fu movie and a vanilla Snack Pack. I thought Shaolin Soccer was sick, but it appears Kung Fu Hustle beats it hands down. Rather, palms down haha.

The other day I lost my lucky toque, aka breakfast toque, aka toque-can-sam, aka toque with blue and grey stripes. It was a sad day indeed.

The other day I walked pass a store in South Common called Da Ghetto Gearz. I had to do a double take to make sure I didn't read it wrong. It was in fact called Da Ghetto Gearz. I think its going to put South Common on the map.

So last night at 1:30am I started watching
Kung Fu Hustle. This is by the same director that brought you Shaolin Soccer, Stephen Chow. Now I'd only seen bits and peices of the latter film through Hendrix. But yah, I saw the trailer on Apple's movie trailer site. So I saw the movie....

Wow. Words can't express how awesome this movie is. It's an action, comedy, adventure, and just...a trip. It's insanity, hilarity, violence, sex, everything. EVERYTHING. Just see it, I beg of you. For the sake of your SANITY watch it. Cuz afterwards you won't be sane anymore. You will be in eternal bliss.

Well this is my first attempt at using Picasa 2, Hello, and Blogger together. Seems to me to be pretty fucking cool. Here is a photo I took at work the other day with my new Nikon Coolpix 5100. The photo had a focal length of 6mm, shutter speed 1/30s, f/2.8, and ISO 50.

Good fucken morning. I'm letting my printer warm up. I need to print like 9 journal sources I found regarding my funrensics paper. I am trying so hard not to curse out this fucken piece of shit paper from an uber bitch professor. Oops. I swear that's all I'll post about that. I'll try my best not to let my destain for this assignment consume me. Fuck. Its the fact I have no idea what the hell to write that bothers me. Screw the paper, I just want to type six pages of obscenities. Doubled spaced, 200 point font, and in bold to achieve the proper emphasis. I think you'd have to get creative after the second page:

fucken-dirty-donkey-cunt-licking-piece-of-horseshit's-ass-fucken-shit!

Yes, I kiss your mother with this mouth. Haha great, printer error. This paper is going to double as a complaint letter to Epson.

dirty-inkjet-loving-whore-fuck-piece-of-horseshit's-ass-fucken-shit!

I'm feeling better already.
Nothing like a good swearing to let out negative energies. Good in, bad out. Clean in, dirt out. Fist out, middle finger to the air.

AHAHAHA. I just rememebered a particularly quotable quote from last night:
Andy: "Ya gotta jump on a grenade for the boys sooner or later."
Me: "No way. I jump on NO grenade. I grab the bitch and throw it back!"

Oh my. Europe will just be too much fun.

Wow. Wow wow wow. Stephen Harper is freaking RIDICULOUS. I hope to god that the Liberals stay in power for eternity if Harper is the kind of person that would lead our country if the PCs got voted in. The CBC has a
new article about the same-sex marriage controversy. Martin will go to the polls if necessary to get what Canada really wants.

Harper is saying that if same-sex marriage is put into law then polygamous marriage won't be far behind. How the HELL can you compare the two? Allowing man and man and woman and woman to marry is nothing like man and woman and woman and so-forth. That is just the most absurd claim I've ever heard. I almost hope it goes to vote, I'd sure as hell vote for same-sex marriage.

Canada is a great country that prides itself on its liberalism, equality, and tolerance of different cultures and peoples. Going to class recently I have seen many comparisons of the United States and Canada, and whether Canada has a separate identity. While the United States is all about "the American way" and forcing that on the Earth, Canada is about embracing the world. I think the Canadian identity is not an identity purely defined by a strictly outlined "Canadian-ness" but is rather the amalgamation of the cultures, practices and experiences of the entire world. We combine the best of all of it, and while we do get the worst at times, I would say Canada does a damned good job of balancing the good with the bad.

The point of that rambling is that homosexualism is a part of the world the same as the Christian marrital tradition is. By legally changing the definition of marriage to include same-sex couples, I would say that Canada is reflecting the changing face of the world, and rightfully so. We can't hide from change, and by denying the subject, that is exactly what we will do. Polygamy is something entirely different, and to be perfectly honest, while I find the concept to be weird, and something I'd not do, how is polygamy much different from the Western practice of having a mistress? I am willing to bet that one of the PC ministers have got a mistress somewhere in there, or are cheating on their spouse. Relationships are weird, people are weird, don't punish them for living as a sexual being.

Want a real trip? Listen to Kasabian's self-titled album. You will travel to receases of your mind you didn't know possibly existed. And go to far off mysterious places that just don't exist in reality or dreamlands. It grinds against what you think is life and embues it with some kind of weird fucked up happy-go-lucky drug of the Gods.

Okay I was gonna make a comment about Stephen Harper being a fucking homophobe last night but I decided against it due to what is really insubstantiated proof, and instead this morning I am going to comment on the ridiculous state of the good ol' United States of America.

In
this article, the official inauguration of George Duble-yah Bush is described:

"At least 2,500 soldiers and 6,000 police officers from across the country will be on duty patrolling the city."

Uhm. Okay so they can afford bombing innocent countries; having one of - if not the - largest military in the world; nuclear weapons, and they can afford basically a division of military and police forces to protect one fucking man....but they can't afford social programs for their own people? How fucking insane is that? I truly hope that the forces fail in their task of protecting him...and then maybe they'll realize that they should stop trying to protect their prez and put into more important things. And sides which, maybe if they tried to pay for social services, and stopped using their military to piss people off, no one would WANT to murder their leader.

ok, so a lot has happened recently. i've been thrown right into the thick of things at Galaxy Broadband. I was on the phone like my first day back from christmas break, and it had been a good two weeks since i'd read those instruction manuals. kinda one of those sink or swim situations i guess. so far, no huge problems. I'm basically done my tenure at Sunrise Records, so i guess i can't use the whole "i work at a record store therefore i must be trendy and cool" line on chicks anymore, that kinda sucks. hahaha. but it's gonna be nice to be outta that place.

this past weekend, like everyone else has said, was pretty damn awesome. two keggers in two days is definitely a workout. all i keep hearing is people saying "man, i heard some guys had two keggers in a row on the weekend, they're savages!" haha.

thankfully, there were no big problems at the parties, and i wanna thank everyone that came and had a good time helping me celebrate my birthday, now we're gonna have to find some way to top this for andy in february.

also, my parents and siblings sent over their gift to me, a FRICKIN' SWEET 5.1 home theatre stereo system that is some crazy 600 watts. we've put it through some nice tests of HALO 2 and Ghost Recon 2, and all i gotta say is wow.

in other news, i'm not impressed with one of my profs. apparently she's a giant bitch and decided that even though i asked to be in a group with people i actually KNOW for an upcoming group project, she figured she'd just go ahead and put me in a group full of people who's names i can't pronounce and who i have no idea who they are and their topic just HAPPENS to be the profs favourite BORING pet topic. TERRIFIC!!!!

did anyone else see that hilarious footage from CES of bill gates showing off his latest new OS dealio and how it crashed like 4 times in a row? hahah. must be a trip down memory lane for bill considering how the launch of win95 went.

ok, i think i'm done. for now.

Raging Alcoholic Boy Drunk Report:

It's 2:50 in the afternoon and I am hungover. No headache, no stomach problems, no real symptoms other than just feeling stupid and hazy. I just had some New York fries and oh good GOD did they ever hit the spot. But yah, I am fucccct. Last night I was a trillion times worse though. Lemme tell you folks at home - an anchorman gets screwed hard in a boat race. I felt like I was gonna die last night after I drank that shit.

Anyway on to the good things. Last night was fucking wicked, the house looked insane and the crowd was awesome. I hear poker went on, I know funnels were a big attraction, and then the boat race was kickass (House 77 reclaimed it's title btw) and all in all things went very well. Except for the poor bastard who locked himself into my washroom for a good hour or two, unleashing the contents of his stomach on my unsuspecting washroom. Poor fucker TRIED to clean it up, so I will give him brownie points - but yah he missed a lot. But yah, house isn't toooo bad. Just rather untidy...

Oh and another thing - I am very disappointed in all of us for being unable to finish off the kegs. Clearly we did not put enough determination into the cause. A shame upon us all, haha.

Raging Alcoholic Boy Pre-Drunk Report:
As a notice for those unaware, tonight will commence two days of debauchery. Many will come, some may never leave. For two nights, our home transforms into a house of Alcoholics Annonymous members' nightmares.

Allow me to paint the picture:
Beer cascades like water from Niagara falls. Friends meet and smile, strangers become friends, and sobriety is a stranger to all. A six foot bottle of Corona dangles from the ceiling and is wrapped in wreath of beer, pouring into the eager mouths of those who dare approach it. A warm light bathes the scene, and the cold night outside is forgotten by all except those pour souls who aren't coming.

*cough* Yah...can ya tell I'm excited?

Rear Admiral Drix reporting for duty.

Good morning all. I will blog while everyone continues to dream on this cold winter night. There are a lot of new things, a lot of old things. A lot of things in general. I'll try my best to package all these thoughts into small servings so it doesn't cause
mental reflux.

Everything is alright, and everything is chill. That isn't a statement of denial but just that everything is well. Give me a second to knock on wood. I don't want this to change for a little while. School is alright. I'm no scholar but I'm in good shape. Found some possible postgrad programs at Sheridan and Humber. Kegger(s) are quickly approaching and I can see everyone preparing. I even got an email inviting me to my own house. I'm glad I got permission, otherwise I would have waited outside until I got the go ahead from the complete strangers. I ran into Andre 3000 at Future Bakery. I said holy shit. He said hey. Not hey ya, just hey. Ricky and his band are paying me for the silly pictures I make for an album cover. Girl troubles are slowly fading and revealing a pleasant face to dream about.

Yea so it wasn't as much as I made it out to be, but I did leave out the part with ninjas and how I saved the planet again. That shit ain't important.

about-to-fall-asleep-but-going-to-read-a-bit-playlist:
The Notorious B.I.G. - Everyday Struggle
Stars - Calendar Girl
Mogwai - Tracy
Eric Claption - Wonderful Tonight
Stills - Allison Krausse
Dan the Automator & DJ Shadow - Third World Lover

I am consumed by Commculittut. It devours me whole. Commculittuts teeth pierce my skin. The teeth sear my flesh. My soul boils.

I'm buzzing and enduring a brutal attack by Commculittut. Or at least it feels like it. It's actually lecture. But it's all good. Beer has solved my woes. It has cured my ailments and taken me to the next plane of existence (I like to call it..."drunk"). I'm not really drunk though. The buzz is wearing off rapidly. I NEED alcohol to help.

Help me alcohol. Help. Run Jane run. Run.

Drink Paul drink. Paul chugs. Watch Paul chug. Chug Paul chug. Chug chug chug.

This post was brought to you by the word:

So no one here has addressed the tsunami...I might as well. It's been a week and a half since it happened, 140 000 or more are dead, things are fucked up. I'm not going to bother pouring over any details as I'm sure most people know a lot of them by now, or at least they should.

In any case, as tragic as the situation is - I can see the world becoming a better place because of this disaster. The impact of the tsunami went well beyond 9/11, the war in Iraq, etc etc etc...it is the most truly human cause to work for that has probably ever affected the earth on a widespread scale. It goes above and beyond war because there is no one to blame, and no bias (or at least there shouldn't be). The pledges of aide that nations are making can seem petty at times because it is as though they are trying to show off to the world scene, but what does that even matter? In this case, competition to donate the most is a GOOD thing because it benefits those in need.

Anyway I'm rambling, and was just reading more BBC reports of the situation, it's very sad and I'm so sorry to anyone who has been touched by the tragedy.

Now time for an ironic post about blogs.
This article from the BBC world news service talks about how blogs are now exploding in America.

Does anyone else think that mass media producers are always horribly behind when it comes to online technologies and trends? I mean, this freaking website is nearly four years old, and I wouldn't even say that we were early adopters of weblogs. Swank was ahead of us by quite a bit, and I am not even sure if I'd call them ahead of the times.

Weirdness.
In other news, class at 9am BLOWS.

I think this has single-handedly been the best New Years Eve I've ever had. Looking at digital cameras and the trip to New Zealand in the morning. A soup, bread and cheese lunch with beer from Germany. Two Towers in the afternoon with beer from the Czech Republic. Tofu and mushroom dinner. Return of the King at night, straight through midnight.

Call it boring, but watching a movie with my dad and uttering happy new year at five past twelve beats any other way I could enjoy myself hands down.

Happy New Years everyone.
