It seems I am a ginormous hypocrite.

Remember when I bitched about that group member who didn't do squat on that project last month? Yea, I think my ERI260 group is gonna hang me after tonight. We have a lil mini-assignment today, and I am only halfway through the readings. Luckily for me and quite unfortunate for them, the marks for this thing is a collective one. Hopefully I know enough to contribute or look like I know what I'm doing.

You can't completely blame me, I feel like shite today. I drank a hot choco and some halls to pacify my scratchy throat and now I have a chocolatey-medicinal taste in my mouth.

Oh yea, I got called a "Chink" on the way to school today by some lady who looked like she had a pound of crack for breakfast. She also asked me how it felt to be using someone else's eyes? I think she was refering to my gogs *shrugs* I'm not offended or anything, but a little surprised. Why are people so quick to label complete strangers? I just stayed quiet and waved. The lesson for today: Don't be so quick to label people... unless a nasty-slut-whore-crack-fiend starts shit with you.

So, I know there was a lot of bitching in Canada about our lack of medals in the Olympics. Well, I would like to point out that in the paralympics, Canada has 70 medals at the moment. 7th in the medal rankings overall. So let us be very proud of our paralympic atheletes who have proved that Canada can indeed be competitive in international sport competition.

ok, i realize this is a little heavier than our usual posts of garbage. but hear me through and come to your own opinion.
Here is an interesting article i stumbled upon. While i recognize this person's obvious knowledge of logic and rhetoric, i find myself put off by how the author so willingly claims "The Word of God" is "the source of all incontrovertible truth", and is "the purest authority." especially when they dismiss the any sort of post modern perspective so quickly by saying that it's just an opinion.

So I finished this small three page paper for a class last night with enough time to get like 7 hours sleep. That is basically what I always get on Sunday nights cuz class is early-ish on Mondays. Instead, insomnia takes over. 3am rolls around. I'm still awake, thinking how exhausted I am, and yet how I cant sleep. 4am rolls around, again, still awake, thinking now how much Monday will suck. I assume I got to bed around like 4:30-5:00. And now I am faced with two of the most dull classes imaginable. Oh GOD today is going to suck.

just recently got back from watchign Shawn of the Dead. hahah. was definitely very funny. people who like horror movies, or campy funny movies or even just dumb humour at all should check it out for serious.

oh yeah. and phil's was a good time. it was nice to get back there. it's been too long. kinda disappointing that they raised the price of premium beers but it's still pretty cheap. i can still barely believe that mattie won so much stuff. but you gotta give him credit he called it at the begining of the night.

"hey, have you met my friend hendrix??"

Raging Alcoholic Boy Drunk Report:
Whoa boy. Well. Phil's Phridays phucked me good and proper. Or I phucked Phil's. Phuck, who cares, it was just an all-round phucked up phnight. Anyway yah, I'll set the record straight right now by saying I was NOT playing in traffic and pulled off the road by the guards. I was attempting to walk, but failing miserably...and as for the guards...I don't know if they actually pulled me to the side or not, I have got very vague recollections of that time. I believe I just managed to find the curb again for another nice chat with the pavement. I also didn't pass out on the road. I was either on the curb, or walking for that brief attempt. I assure you, if I'd of passed out on the road, I'd still be there now. Either dead or near-dead with a much worse hangover than I have now.

Mmm...the world is still spinning. What a joy.

olla,

Been a long day. Ran around signing some documents, morning classes, read for classes, read recreationally, evening classes, bus-a-bus ride home, wrote some run-on sentences, and now just chilling. A few highlights today: hookups, buzz ride with Brad this morn, saw a dude wipe out on a treadmill (it was scary more than funny), and Andy yelling CAAAACAAACAAA! at Paul. I'd say getting a lot of homework done was a highlight, but then my geek factor will shoot up an extra 10 points.

Phil's Friday for Paul Day's birthday will be a great day indeed. I hope they play Green Day for Paul Day. We will party all day and all night with Paul Day. We will wait for today to become yesterday, and then we will party, that day and the day after.

Yo Paul, you should name your daughter May. And when your upset at her you can yell, "MAY DAY!"

RAGING ALCOHOLIC BOY DRUNK REPORT - WELCOME BACK KEGGER 2004

Well. The tap got fucked up. That sucks. But we made do, thanks to those three lovely ladies who used this thing called "gravity" and some incredibly sucking...uh...I mean....syphoning power to give the masses beer. All in all, aside from that averted disaster things went well. The house didn't burn down. The police did not show. And the Eminem posters are all off my walls at last. Thank you all to those who came and "sucks to be you" to those who didn't - you missed a blast.

Highlights included - but were not exclusive to - playing euchre with my boy Rockey for the first time in ages; the absolute joy of when the tap was first repaired - as shortlived as it was; seeing the front hall get absolutely jammed to the point of suffocation whilst the living room was totally empty; and definitely seeing the "syphoning" power of Ashley on the tap. Good times as always. See you in January 2005 folks.

For me, the school year has finally begun. I just got back from one of the last bus rides home and like...it felt good to be out and about. I hadn't been home for fourteen hours. That is a fucking lonnnng time. And its ironic because it made me feel like I WAS home. Or home at school again. If that makes sense. Yah, and for the first time ever, I heard no cars on the walk back. No cars, just crickets and wind in the leaves. Fucking wicked feeling!

I just got back from my concert that was in lieu of first pub. First off - within like thirty seconds of getting off the streetcar I sold my tickets basically at cost. I sold them for slightly less just cuz it was a nice rounded number.

First band was Boys Night Out. Jesse and I had no fucking clue who it was at first but eventually Jesse figured it out. They sounded sort of like some strange mix of Offspring, Gob, and then all the other emo bands there that night. They were okay, but the lead vocalist wore make up like a clown. Sooo that was just too ICP-ish for my liking.

Then Hopesfall hit the stage. And oh my did they ever hit it. Like a freight train. Loud, screaming, huge guitar playing. Just loved em, I was super impressed despite my mixed feelings from what I'd previously heard of them (which I admit wasn't enough) The absolute control over the teen-bopping, all black tshirt (seriously, I made a crack about how all the kids outside the El Mocombo wore black...and then every single last one of those pre-teen or early teen fuck ups at the concert wore black too - Jesse and I were honestly amongst the absolute oldest in the audience) audience. It was awe-inspiring to see.

Moneen. Best emo band ever live. haha they just rock my socks. They have an undeniable energy, enthusiasm and positivity that no other band can equal. They played nearly all my favs cept for Wrath of the Donkey. ...yah....I cant describe to you how good they are. If you ever get the opportunity, see Moneen live. Kill people to obtain tickets if necessary. The life imprisonment will be well worth the goodness of their live set. If nothing else, the humour they have is fantastic - they freaking like....stage dived onto one another, haha, its hard to describe, just see them and find out.

Alexisonfire were also very, very wicked. They opened with Accidents, and played basically all of my favourites, including Happiness by the Kilowatt, Polaroids of Polar Bears, No Transitory, and of course Pulmonary Archery. The crowd was basically kissing their feet they loved em so much. They played well, were very energetic, and their banter was quite amusing.

So overall, a fantastic evening. Totally worth going to see. And Saturday, ladies and gents - is that very special day. So really, the year has finally begun for me I feel.

Been a while since I've posted, figured I would say a few things. First - Canada rocks, way to go Doan. Second - the network in the house is finally up and running for all computers and Xboxes. Let the mayhem begin. Third - I already want class to be done with. Funny really, I couldn't wait for class before. Now it cannot end fast enough. Go figure. This weekend will be huge.

Yah I thought I had more to say but clearly I don't. Oh well. Peace out y'all.

A funny thing happened on the way to Erin Mills:

As you know, I've been contemplating about resigning from retail hell for some time now. I was going to tutor CCIT students in Flash and PS for classes like 300, 357, 353, etc. and help payroll pitchers. I realized the other day that all the cool coworkers are leaving or are already gone. Making shifts a little cloudier and full of rain.

Anyway, I see Sur on my way to work (neighbor whom loathes/loves us depending on the week, it's mostly dislike I think). I go and say hi to try and smoothen out the latest bitch out his wife gave us for being loud in our backyard. Usually their bitchouts have some validity, but she got mad at noise on the weekend at like 10-11ish. Bah. We get to chatting and he asks me whether I could tutor his kid. Right away I say yes... then I realize I don't want this kid failing cuz of me and tell Sur I'm a bit of a dumbass. Not in those words though. He says it's basic, grade 8 stuff. So I agree, and now the wife needs to give the go ahead and Brains McGee aka Wiseman Drix will get his teach on. When I'm down with the kid, he's gonna be the smartest and coolest kid in town, just like his tutor!

Tutoring isn't the funny thing though. In our chit chat he says his family is moving! Relocating a mere 2 blocks away haha. I'm betting we were a motivating factor in that decision. We're not exactly your
ideal neighbors, but we still kick ass.

the latest halo 2 weekly update has been posted
here. one of the best comments in it so far:
"Marty is letting me help choose names for the pieces. He thinks very literally while composing, to get into the meaning of the music, so his original titles are things like, "Sad Voices" or "Fast Drive" and then after the fact, he comes up with better, more appropriate names, and he's letting me help. So expect tracks to be called stuff like, "Space Shenanigans" and "Astro-Ass-Blaster." I'm basically a poet."

hahahahah.

ok. it's been a busy week. i went home on saturday night to my parent's cottage. hung out there with jenn and the family, then we had a visit from my old buddy jones, which was cool. seriously we stood in line for this bar in kincardine for like 2 hours. that's a little crazy considering i pretty much refuse to do that sort of thing around here. then on tuesday jenn and i came back to ssauga, moved her tons of crap into her rez room, and then wednesday i was off to paul's boat where we sailed for a couple hours. then thursday, i had my first 2 classes of the year. they seem ok. after that we went to see jimmy eat world at that edge102 exclusive show at the mod club. and now.. well, now i get to go to work for like 8 hours. wooo!

Okay, I got a beef. There is this lunatic somewhere around our house that has got on the A/C. Has done since I arrived. That is almost a week now folks. Day and night, the air conditioning is on. Even last night, which was probably the coolest the temperature got all week. It's absolutely nuts. FUcking retard is killing the environment for absolutely no good reason.

"Yo, this is dedicated
To Joe, da flava, Dakota
Grag yo bozac, punk"

I am damn excited about Thursday. First official day of UTM goodness (although I think Imma be at Sheridan). SHERINDALE! Mr.Day and I dropped by to grab some books, and the place is messed up. Messed due to construction and the crazy hectic atmosphere. I was going to talk to a counselor to quadruple check my credits, but the registrar's line was a little off putting.

You really can tell who the frosh are. They have an unmistakable dumbfounded, worried, innocent, snot-nosed disposition. I'm not saying we seniors get all jaded and sour, just saying they really don't know what they're getting into, good and bad. Here's hoping their experiences are as sweet and hilarious as ours. I just wanna pull'em aside and tell'em everything will be ok. Cuz all I got going into University was, "study hard or your ass is grass!" Fuckers. It's sound advice but I'm the kinda kid that benefits from positive reinforcement.
I do a trick, you give me a treat.

I raise a figurative pint glass to everyone at home and toast to another funfilled year with much love and edumakation.

Aight folks. I need to clear my conscience. I have been living a lie. I am not actually a student at the University of Toronto at Mississauga. I am in fact a schizophrenic, who carries on his many personalities lives.

For a start, I am Paul Day - a famous musician in the band
Soul Purpose. Check out my bio on the members page. For this personality I don't actually change much. My hair just changes from blonde to black. But otherwise it's the facade I put on to all of the rest of you. I mean its true...my musical influencee IS life. And I AM a huge fan of fencing. Dunno bout that cuneiform though. That is fuct man.

As Paul Day, I live my life as a famous British sculptor.

Paul Day, on the other hand, is the head coach for the Rochester Knighthawk lacrosse team.

Then, there is Paul Day. I admit, he's not too successful as an editor for really bad suspense thrillers. Although I have worked with Carrie-Anne Moss. She's pretty hot.

I cannot forget Paul Day of course - the local Colorado newscast hero. I think this is why I liked Anchorman so much; because I am an anchorman myself, and thought that the film was a 100% accurate documentary on the superb work we do.

Finally, I am Paul Day. A butt fugly coach for the Cambridge University volleyball team. Seriously, was I on drugs when this photo was taken? Was I drunk? Had I been hit with a shovel lately? Orrrrr maybe that personality is also schizophrenic and doubles as a hockey player. Who knows.

Yah and there's this guy. Apparently my final personality speaks German and is black. And is a doctor. I think.

So there you have it folks. The TRUTH about Paul Day.

I, Paul Day, am henceforth finished with Caledon Propane.
I do solemnly swear I shall never again work at a factory.
I shall never sit in thirty-five degree weather that feels like forty-five, chucking hunks of metal and other hunks of metal.
I shall be in a cool, comfortable office, be it in an office tower, or in an aircraft cockpit.
I shall enjoy offices. To hell with anyone who thinks an office job is bad. Who cares if it’s boring and repetitive? Try a job that is boring, repetitive, not air conditioned, physically grueling, and involves a lot of sweat, some blood, working with some really unintelligent people, and big fucking mutant spiders that spit acid!!...okay maybe they don’t spit acid.

I digress.

I shall never be hungry again!!!
…or work in a factory.

I AM DONE!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

So I have two more working days this summer. I got paid today; biggest paycheque to date - nothing wrong with that.

They included my vacation pay too. X-Box purchasing can now commence. *grin*

But yah, summer is almost over folks, so here are some reflections. I have to say, this has been a good summer. Lots of good concerts including Incubus, Sam Roberts, Broken Social Scene and the Vans Warped Tour. I'd argue that definitely those first three redefined what I consider to be a good show. Sam Roberts in particular blew my fucking mind.

A few trips to Madison's, other bars, and the boat kept me occupied. As did movies, and the odd day in Sauga for drinking - and of course some parties. Strangely though, I feel it was pretty uneventful. Work sucked the life out of me, and out of my time with work every other weekend. As I write this, I am living off of like three hours sleep. At the beginning of the summer that would have damn near killed me. Now...I seem to be able to function pretty well with so little rest.

But yah...uneventful. Which is basically the exact opposite from how the coming two years will be. Europe next summer, and now New Zealand for reading week. And of course, our usual various keggers, pubs, and stupid drunk nights. I cannot wait. Year four in Mississauga will go down in history as far as I'm concerned. I am stating right now that I want to visit Phil's for my birthday, and Andy, I definitely want to hit up Ottawa and experience the legend that seems to be Barrymore's at long long last.

Two more days folks. And then I am free as a bird finally.
