HOUSE 77 VERSION 2.2

ok, so here i am working on what is allegedly the last essay of my university career, i say "allegedly" because there may be one more given some special circumstances, and my finals this year are gonna be rather essay-ish. but whatever.

definitely getting rather sick of writing about the pluralistic-democratic capitalist perspective and such. stupid people love to say how "interest groups" are ruining modern democracy, yet at the same time they pretend that corporations are somehow not interest groups, nevermind how they show all of the same characteristics with the addition of one, they often have let loose in uncontrollable reckless abandon in their pursuit of profit, with little thought as to what they're going to destroy be it the environment, or people.

let me make this simple for all you playing along at home, if something lobbies government to get public policy to work in their favour no-matter the issue, they are an interest group. what's super fun about this is that most interest groups aren't just trying to get tax breaks for the 10% of society that already owns 80% of the wealth. the ones that do that are simply the most effective interest groups, also known as corporations.

ever notice how even the language of modern politics is in favour of those with all the wealth? no one likes to call it "corporate welfare", instead it's a "tax break" or a "subsidy". nevermind that it costs the American federal government over $125 billion in a year.

here, read
this i'm tired of complaining and i need a break from this stupid topic.

Morning all. My sleeping pattern is once again discombobulated. Pillows and blankets are littered on my floor along with unclaimed panties and bras from those late night rendezvous. If anybody out there is missing their nipple tassles they're on top of my nightstand.

The Arts Festival was a wicked night. The acts were really good and provided some well needed UTM spirit. UTM has some sick talent and its too bad there's only one night to showcase it. I never really got to talk with the other acts until the night of the show. People gave eachother high fives and pats on ass for good luck. It was a friendly and supportive atmosphere for sure.

I finally got to perform the world premiere of "Delayed Response" in front of UTM. I completely zoned out and forgot a part haha, but it was cool cuz the pedal played until I remembered what came after the, "dee-dee-doo-doo-dee" it was "doo-doo-dee-dee-doo". It was a thrill man. I got to rock out at UTM and it served as my final F-U, and thank you to the school. Thank God that song is dead, I don't want to hear it for a looong time. It wasn't the performance that got me excited, it was the fact that my fanclub came with posters to the show hahaha.
Jennie even made a website! The last pic of Tracey and Jennie is fucken gold. Nothing like groupie love!!!

We ended the night with a quick stop at a random residence, followed by Tremendous, and finishing at Failte's to meet up with some of Tracey's buddies. The Sun is rising, which is my que to hide under the covers and hide. Peace for now, and have a chill Easter.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT

It's been a while.

RAGING ALCOHOLIC BOY DRUNK REPORT:
Wow. Yah, this is the first time in a while that I've done one of these the morning after. *cough* Afternoon after. So yah, I skipped class and watched I Heart Huckabees with Andy and Ben, good times. Then I ask Andy when Cip is showing up. He says a couple hours from then. *cough*
Cip showed up not two minutes later.
We decided to purchase some alcohol. So we got some Courvoisier. *cough* a 24 of Lucky and a 12 of Lakeport...
We drank a lot of it.
We played Free4All NHL 2005. I laid a beating on Andy a couple times. We played some poker. I won it all of course...*cough* Or lost. Mattie, Marcus and Kenny then joined us in the fray. We played poker.

We EVENTUALLY went to Sheridan, where we got Steffen to join us. I checked my jacket and scarf, and got at er with some Keiths. Later in the night I bought a pitcher of Strongbow. It was my LIFELONG DREAM to drink one of those myself. AND SOMEONE ELSE TOOK IT!!!! Damn you all to hell for that fuck up.

AND THEN!!!...
A bearfucker. Cip - you are one SICK SICK individual for making us drink that. First I wanted to die from the taste. Then the burning kicked in. Then my stomach growled in anger at my stupidity. I managed to hold it down though.

So then I started grinding with hot bitches. *cough* They probably weren't that hot. *cough* I WAS having a good time with em though.

I miraculously managed to retrieve my jacket and dead grandmother's hand-knit scarf (what the HELL I brought it with me for to a place where I could lose it is BEYOND me but thank god I got it back - I would have hated myself forever for losing it). Then I waited. Cip went past me and disappeared into the wild fray of Sheridan students drunkenly stumbling to various places. I dunno where the hell he went.

So then the others eventually came out...and then it gets kinda hazy. I recall yelling and sassing back at some people. Marcus was gonna get his asskicking on and then the cops showed up. I recall yelling and sassing back. Then I THINK we stole someone's cab. All the while there was still yelling and sassing back going on. Anyway Marcus, Mattie and Kenny parted ways with us, and Steffen went to get his jacket. So Andy and I waited by the cab. When Steffen got back - Cip showed up out of no where. It was really rather humourous. And then we got a wonderful taxi ride home. I remember being regaled in tales of the adventures Cip had whilst disappeared.

So then we got back. I went upstairs and apparently asked someone to the gala.

Good times had by ALL. Legendary night to say the least.

I am writing another post about this because I am having trouble wrapping my head around what exactly is going to occur in a few weeks.

It will end a full 19 years of public system education. That is 86% of my entire life that I've spent in schools. In the past four years my life has completely changed from what it was like in high school thanks to good friends, crazy parties, interesting professors (as well as bad ones, bleh), my parents, and life itself. The prior 5 years were...a mess. And before that I dont consider myself to really have had a brain cell in my head.

...I'm not sure I do now either...after heavy alcohol abuse.

But the fact of the matter is...that...well...graduation marks another ridiculous hurdle in life. And I'll be glad to jump it. And you can say all you want about me talking about this so early, but I dont want the realization about me graduating to hit me like a week or a month after. I want it to hit me IMMEDIATELY. So I am prepping myself. I advise many of you to do the same!

I technically have nine more days of actual class until I am officially finished university. Seventeen days. Two weeks and three days.

I have three essays left. One test, bunch of other little things. Then a formal kegger (on the 8th, for those who don't know). Then a CCIT Gala. Then some serious kickass fucking early summer months which begin with a cottage trip. And then Europe.
And then flight school.
And then I buy my Aston Martin DB8.

*tapping fingers together* Yes...it's all falling into place.

That was a wicked St.Patty's day. Mr.Mattie does in fact "do it right" can't go wrong with poker, beer, and Dublin's Gate. I know Andy is tired of hearing it, but I'm going to post about how I KILLED him in a chugging contest. Not only do we have photos of this spectacle, we will also have Blogger archiving this entry as a testament to
my victory! I hate to toot my own horn but *MEEP!* *MEEP!*

Another piece of glorious news (for Brad and I at least): I thought we had to read every case reading in our text for Forensics. I checked it out, and there isn't a case reading for every chapter. Meaning the forecasted billions of facts for memorization is now cut down to hundreds of thousands. Time to bust out the flash cards and caffeine pills. I heart school.

I am a big fan of Diane Phan. She has hooked me up with some web work that'll occupy the time I usually reserve for staring at the ceiling and watching Paul's fro grow. I'll also use it to gain that thing they call experience.

Are you experienced?

Well, I've spent the better part of 5 hours hanging out with Steffen and Ryan, owing to our class cancellation. Funny, FUNNY fucking shit occured during an incident where the taping of two people necking it out in a hidden room turned topsy turvey when they actually spotted the voyeuristic video recorder. Fast running and MUCH laughing ensued. Oh my goodness. Haven't laughed that hard for many moons. Good times. A foosball game and three or four beers later, and I'm feeling rather hazy in class again. Wow I've missed afternoon boozing. Can't wait for Europe for that very reason.

ha, so I just finished watching the Village. I thought I'd be terrified, but happily it's not as scary as Signs. In fact it's actually a really cool plot. The surprise ending at the end (as is expected with M.Knight Shyamalan films) was a much different one from past films. It wasn't as supernatural or just plain weird as the others, it was much more plausible, which I enjoyed. I wont spoil it but if you havent seen it, please do.

what strikes me the most about
this article, is the 120 years it's been since this an "incident" of this nature has occurred. not since the Northwest Rebellion apparently. definitely tragic, but seems to me to be more the fault of the lone man at the farm more than anything else.

I would just like to congratulate Steve Fossett for successfully flying solo non-stop around the world in the Virgin Atlantic Global Flyer. 67 hours, 2 minutes and 38 seconds, Steve is definitely a freaking hero in my books, and should be an inspiration to all!

Country, rock, blues, metal...
Moody, beautiful, subdued, outrageous...
The newest Queens of the Stone Age album, Lullabies to Paralyze, is a bizarre mixture of a lot of sounds, and develops on the desert sounds of Songs for the Deaf, while moving in hugely new directions. It's just insane. It really starts out strong with amazing driven rhythms and heavy guitars. Then it goes into some weird territories. Hard to explain really.
I definitely suggest it to all of you.

And Little Sister is possibly their best song ever. (although A Song for the Dead is pretty freaking ridiculous too)
