Don't bother reading this if you're tired of me talking about my employment woes/jobhunt. I really do feel sorry for everyone that I write the same sentiments over and over.
I made this for an agency two days ago. I changed it up for the web marketer position (basically job is to make banners, design basic sites, edit photos, its a cakewalk).
I called to confirm that they got it:
DJdrixx: Hi, I was wondering if you had Rocco B's contact information? Receptionist: Rocco isn't with us anymore, can you hold while I connect you to John. DJdrixx: Ok
*click*
John: Hi, John speaking. DJdrixx: Hi John, I was told I could talk to you with regards to the web marketer position a former recruiter was handling. John: Actually Matthew has that account, you got a pen? I'll give you his extension.
*click*bleep*bleep*bloop*
Matthew: Hi Matthew speaking. DJdrixx: Hi Matthew, I was told I could speak with you regarding the web marketer position a former recruiter was handling. Matthew: Ah yes, that position is on hold while the client figures out what to do. Its really up in the air right now. You can email me your resume and cover letter if you like? DJdrixx: Thanks...

I will not post about jobs and girls for the next week... hahaha jobs and girls, that's funny. I will post about more interesting things like what I ate and the colour of the sunset.
Today: Junior Chicken Sandwich x 2. Overcast, ghostly grey.

This is what awaits in Brampton (or the fringe of Etobicoke).
So now you all know what I do. More accurately, what I pretend to do.
I need to find a posting that reads:
Job Purpose and Accountabilities - Ability to animate a rabbit humping a chicken - Candidate must be a gentleman - Loves chicks

Raging Alcoholic Boy Drunk Music Report: So Drix Andy and I went to the Broken Social Scene show on Olympic island this Saturday afternoon and evening. It was a totally amazing show. Admittedly, I knew little to nothing of the other bands playing.
I knew the hype surrounding Feist, and I still consider it to be just that, hype. She has a nice summer sound, but it's just TOO downbeat for my liking, and considering I listen to stuff like Tom Middleton or Kruder and Dorfmeister that is a big claim.
We missed Raising the Fawn unfortunately because of an INSANE long wait for the ferries across. They need to work on that very badly, the wait was nearly unbearable, ESPECIALLY for the poor parents who had kids just trying to get to the island for a nice afternoon out.
The beer tent ran out of premium beer (Kokanee and Keith's...oh yah...HUUUUGE selection there...idiots...) so it was all Blue and Bud Light action for the afternoon. I have always stood firm that there are two beers I flat out refuse to buy if I have a choice...and those are both of them. Bleh.
Bloc Party...well what can be said about them...they are VERY good. I was stunned and amazed. I had no idea what to expect, so I was EXTREMELY surprised to find myself absolutely enthralled by their music. It was so catchy and upbeat, while meaningful and layered. I highly recommend picking up their album Silent Alarm, it's fantastic.
And then came Broken Social Scene. Wow. Wow wow wow. I mean I'd seen them before but really, their music, along with beer, a big and relaxed crowd in the middle of an open field with the sun setting, and the Toronto skyline off in the distance is perhaps the single most ideal show that one can ever see, period. Their music is simply mesmerizing. And seeing as many as 14 people on stage playing everything from the violin to the trumpet to a freaking TRIANGLE is just mind-blowing. OR just six people...but with FOUR guitars. The sounds and layers they create are just fantastic. It's such a wonderful celebration when they are all on stage. They nailed it in my mind. Hendrix commented that they weren't as tight, and that is true, but I dont think they needed to be...it was more relaxed and fun, and it fit the bill just perfectly.
Definitely one of my top five shows.
Then we went to Bier Market. haha oh my. Ho'z'o's'!
And yay, England won, and Portugal went on but short most of their best players. Wooooo Cross of St.George!

I'm not taking the job in Brampton. It is too far and I don't like the work. I can't identify with it and therefore have no passion for said job.
Common Toronto, common...
PS. I am late for work
Work Adjustment Theory: Every worker has unique needs and abilities. Work adjustment theory suggests that employees' motivation levels and job satisfaction depend on the fit between their needs and abilities and the characteristics of the job and the organization. A poor fit between individual characteristics and the work environment may lead to reduced levels of motivation.

Has been a while since I've posted. Not much to say, I found the latest Penny Arcade to be both humourous and ominous. Why ominous? Because if the program they jest about - a so-called "World of Starcraft" - were to indeed be spawned by those clever devils at Blizzard...then Hendrix as we know him would cease to exist.
Many a time I recall awakening at five in the morning to the sound of the Zerg, Protoss, or Terran's either under Rear-Admiral Gamalinda's control...or under attack by his clearly superior forces. I swear the speed at which he moves in the game is inhuman. Some kind of evil craft is behind his powers...perhaps the craft of the stars? Who is to say, I surely am not. All I know is that if this game that Penny Arcade refers to WERE to be created...Hendrix would indeed disappear for good...becoming a 1337 professional World of Starcraft player in the South Korean gaming circuits.
I can imagine it now: Paul - "Hendrix we will get you the proper help you need soon buddy. Just hang in there." Hendrix - "Can't talk. Mopping up with 'lings. Pra pra pra!!!!" Paul - *sniffle* "It's too late..."
Also... The Oilers are one game away people. One game. THE game. Oh my. Gonna be good.

Unless you live under a very large rock, u probably know the song Crazy by Gnarls Barkley. It's an amazing song, I love it, and its already huge everywhere. But what is MORE impressive is the video for the song. Holy crap is it ever kickass.

Tomorrow is 06/06/06, 666 for those counting at home. Do I believe shit will go down. Nope. I think a disaster was averted though (see Day's notes below).
Anyway, this lady at work is freaking out about tomorrow. She's awesome. She has claustrophobia and is easily shaken when our elevator to the 19th floor makes the slightest rumble. She would rather be late for a meeting so she doesn't have to take a subway or streetcar on her way in.
I enjoy her company because she worries more than me. About more ridiculous things than anything my imagination can come up with. I'm betting she'll show up to work tomorrow wearing a hardhat wrapped in tinfoil that's been soaked in holy water.

Also, I am pissed that Harper wants to bring up the same-sex marriage debate again. Canada has put into law that Canadians can marry the same sex. Just drop it, and let the fact that we are an open-minded country who doesn't judge people for their personal choices continue on strongly.

Uhm...in case you haven't read this... I suggest you do. I was absolutely terrified to see the CN Tower on the front page of the BBC news website...and the news is not terribly encouraging.
