I dreamt I was at a kegger last night.
I remember a former friend mentioning something about one last weekend.
'I'll call if its good and I'll call if its bad, either way I'll call you.' A Paul Day guarantee is only as good as a Paul Day.
Thanks Paul. Check it out, I made a blog for you. You can post there from now on H88.BLOGSPOT.COM!

08:00 - 13:00: Garrett Turbine Engine workshop and Multi-Aircrew Simulator Training. 14:00 - 15:30pm: NDB approaches and missed approaches on the Truflite 142 multi-engine simulator. 15:30 - 18:00 Worked behind the front desk with Judy. 18:00 - 21:30 Worked behind the front desk by myself. 21:30-22:00 Stressing out behind the front desk working by myself because the daily invoices weren't adding up at all and none of the Mastercard, Visa, or Debit numbers were even remotely right.
...
07:00 - 14:30:
I work again tomorrow morning. 21.5 hours out of 48 at the airport. The worst part is that if I become an instructor, I've seen the guys there from 7 in the morning till 10 at night. 15 hour shifts. WOOO.

Aight so it's been like...a long freaking time since I last posted. This has been for a number of reasons. One is that I have started working again. Craziness hey? I didn't work for over a year before I got that job. So anyway yah, I am at the Brampton Flying Club, as a dispatcher. I dispatch planes. I take phone calls from crazy people who think we are Pearson and have jets. I process stuff. Etc etc.
I have also been working hard on my multi-engine aircraft rating. This means I can fly aircraft with (surprise!!) multiple engines. Or in this case, two. I have been flying the Piper PA-44-180 Seminole. It has two Lycoming O360 engines producing 180hp each. I cruise between 120-160 knots (220-300km/h), and have a boatload of fun doing so. But it costs around $400 an hour to rent, meaning my credit card got raped this month. But on the bright side, today, oh glorious day, I passed my multi-engine flight test. I did it in 7.3 hours. They say that it averages around 10 hours, so I just saved myself nearly three hours, or $1200 worth of flying. That = me SUPER DUPER HAPPY.
So other interesting things. Firstly, my birthday is on the 28th, I am planning to do something possibly on the 30th. Further details will come once I decide, and you are all invited provided you promise to consume near-lethal quantities of alcohol. NEAR - LETHAL.
I might also be getting a second job. Ugh. That will hurt.
Other fascinating things. People with bionic limbs = awesome. Montreal shooting = absolutely terrible (I hope that Harper realizes what a fucking tool he is and does something even MORE drastic than the registry to stop this from happening in Canada, he will look like a hypocrit, but he has to).
I am excited about the new fall season of television. Weeds. Lost. Battlestar Galactica. But alas, Entourage is over...how I will miss thee until the next season.
And finally, I get to work on my multi-IFR rating now. Translated to land-people speak, that basically means you are certified to fly a multi-engined aircraft using Instrument Flight Regulations. Basically it means you keep your head down and look at the purdy instruments to guide you along. That is the final piece of my commercial licence, and once I have that (as well as completing a 300 nautical mile trip) I will be legally able to earn money to fly. And then on to being an instructor at (you ready for this?) a whopping 900-1000$!!!!....per month. UGH. Easy street here I come...I'll be flying your sons and daughters as they learn to become underpaid flight instructors too.

Let's talk about love.
I finally got to see What Dreams May Come. It was okay. I only really wanted to watch it for the visuals and was slightly intrigued by the story. Basically, dude dies, wife kills herself, dude goes to heaven, wife goes to hell, dude goes after wife, they both end up in heaven. The tear jerker is how someone will go through hell for the one they love, and that true love prevails by will alone.
So this is my qualm. The movie takes place in an afterlife where your wishes and desires come true. This setting is stupid because death no longer serves as a device to challenge the character's love if all they have to do is wish.
Granted it's a movie. It becomes interesting when you apply it to real life. When do you stop loving someone because of factors out of your control? And to what degree? In the movie it was the death of a spouse. But it could be something like unrequited love, distance, or anything that would force you apart. At what point do you decide to keep trying or to give up? Does it make you any less noble for wanting to let go? Does it make your love less true? It might be healthier not to wish for impossible things.
Call me a pussy for talking about this shit, but I thought the movie was interesting and pretty funny.
My mind has changed My body's frame but god I like it My hearts aflame My bodys strained but god I like it

Gonna get rdy to head out in a bit, but thought I'd type a lil tidbit about my past week.
Thursday: First off, the Circus Room gig was a lot of fun. We held a colouring contest with our logo on it and passed around crayons. Rewards included 2 plastic Uzis, 1 pair o' handcuffs, 2 whoopie cushions, gag glasses, and a badass slingshot. The submissions were incredible. Since we're all about journalistic truth on this blog I'll scan'em soon enough. We had cutesy submissions with bunnies humping around the amps, others drew flames and set the logo on fire, another drew arms and legs coming out of the logo. Crayons are awesome... I don't know who won because I left early :( I also refused to judge them because they all blew my mind away. We didn't sound half bad either, you could say we sounded half good. Bellevue was awesome as always.
Took a shot of JD and ran out of the Circus Room to head back to Mississauga with Trace. Had to leave early because I had a one day placement in the morning.
Friday: Running on what must've been 4 hours of sleep I arrived by the beaches. My assignment revolved around simple production work for an existing banner campaign. The people at the shop were awesome. Their workers are freaking talented. I would look over and they'd be working on 3+ pieces and being shuffled around by the project manager on other tasks. I can't be satisfied with how I performed when I try to compare myself to any member of that team. To say I was out of my league is an understatement, but I loved every second of it. They had DC action figures everywhere. They also handed out beers and pizza. It was a one day placement, a glimpse, a morsel, an iota of the industry, and I want more. I passed out once I got home.
Saturday: I woke up this morning to Jo's phone call. We were to head to the FanExpo at the Convention Center. Think comics, gaming, horror, sci fi, and anime. The penicle of geekdom. I went for the comics and gaming. I also went for this man. That is Jim Lee. One of comic books's biggest and most influential artists. He illustrated Uncanny X-Men, X-Men (the series most familiar in pop culture), founded Wildstorm Productions, created Wild C.A.T.s, drew for Batman etc. etc. In short, this guy is fucking awesome. I ended up lugging around a backpack full of comics from my childhood to be signed, only to be detoured by long lines and overpriced passes for his booth ($45 to stand in line for over 2 hours. Maybe if he danced and sang a number I could justify it). It wasn't a total loss, I saw Alice Cooper, Roddy Piper, and Gates McFadden (aka Dr.Crusher). I was also under the same roof as Carrie Fisher. Also played some card games and lost. I would call the people who dressed up giant nerds, but I can't knock on people if they're having a good time. They aren't hurting anyone... just their social lives.
Sunday: TBA
Monday: CNE. The Ex is my summer fling.
